With Generative AI, what is the future for artists?
With Generative AI, it is easy to make digital art that looks like handmade paintings. So then, what is the future of the world of arts?
For Artists, the future is in pursuing the traditional way where they would sit and paint original work using skills learned through hard work, using unique materials. They could even record themselves painting, or give live painting performances - think ‘Art shows’ just like one attends an Ed Sheeran’s live performance. Licensing and copyright businesses will flourish as artists seek to protect their original work and earn a good living out of their passion.
For Digital Artists, the future is in screen or video recording as they paint out an original piece of work. They would need a solid way to copyright and license their work. When creators use AI to build out their content and ensure that the software is not storing or using their original content to train their systems, original thinkers would still have some value. However, it will be increasingly difficult to distinguish oneself or create a market positioning that allows for an aspiring career.
Any artist can launch their art brand to sell art prints, obtain paid gigs, sell art shows, make customized art, and more. Overall, artists would either need to increase the breadth of work they do or go deeper in their skills to make something that artificial intelligence cannot.
